Have you ever been in another country or a new city and met a local who showed you the ins and the outs of the area? They know the best about the places to visit, great restaurants and the coolest local spots. Having a “guide” can introduce you to new things that you would never be able to find or experience on your own. The experiences all happen a lot easier.
In general, this concept works in business and in life. Having a guide, or a proven roadmap, can speed up your progress tremendously and shorten your learning curve. It can help you reach your destination quickly instead of going in different directions looking for the goal.
Learn from someone who has done it before you!
This is pretty obvious, but it might seem like a lot of people don’t take advantage of this and instead they try to figure things out on their own. There is no need to do that!
Usually there has always been someone who has walked the path before you, and if you are fortunate enough, there are those who are willing to teach and guide you. By tapping into their knowledge and experiences, you can cut down on the time you would’ve spent if you were doing something on your own. It is one of the easiest ways to propel you forward and gain progress.
Seeking this advice must be from a credible, honest and trustworthy source. Ideally, it is someone showing you the step-by-step process. If you find a proven roadmap, either in a mentor or a step-by-step guide … work it. Take massive action, and don’t give up, especially if it is a system that has been proven to work! Stick to the steps or mentor guidance.
Some examples of how you can tap into this type of knowledge:
It doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money either. You can study people who have done something similar before you, by reading books and biographies, listening to audio programs, studying systems, etc. However, the information in such material can be superficial or vague and doesn’t always explain the actual thought process necessary, and the different steps and details.
If you’re looking to find the truly valuable information and training that teaches you the different steps of the process, then you often have to commit and pay for a program or to get access. Don’t see this as money spent, but rather money invested in yourself and your future. It’s valuable if it’s a proven strategy and from a credible source.
If you don’t invest in yourself, why would anyone else? To really achieve progress and take a huge leap forward, you need to take this first step.
“The most important investment you can make is in yourself.”
– Warren Buffet
